Interview: The Funeral Flower by Michelle Jester #Giveaway @michelle_jester

Please help me welcome author Michelle Jester to PNR & More today for an INTERVIEW AND GIVEAWAY! Read on below for our interview, and to learn more about her novel The Funeral Flower.

Hi! Would you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a hopeless romantic (I always say this is the most important thing to know about me: LOVE COMES FIRST). It helps that I am married to my high school sweetheart! When people talk about how silly it is to be connected to someone at first sight, I laugh because that was us. The moment we saw each other, whether it was lust or whatever, we were drawn to one another so strongly that we couldn’t ignore it. I have two adult children, four dogs, a “pet” wild squirrel and his sibling that live in our backyard, and a wonderful group of family and friends. I try to fall in love with as much of this life as I can. I believe everyone has been through horrible experiences and each one of us has a story to tell. If we share with one another, none of us will ever feel quite as alone.

Do you have anything you would like to say to your readers?

Writing is not only enjoyable to me it is also unavoidable, as is photography. I’m so excited to be on this journey and thankful to each of you for sharing it with me!

What do you do when you are not writing?

I am in public relations, media and marketing as well as a photographer, graphic designer and volunteer. I read all the time!

Do you write an outline before starting a book or just write?

I actually start with writing the basic story in three to four pages, extremely generalized. Then, I fill in the outline as I write the book. I don’t want to become constricted on certain things and although most of it is already in my head, I like the details and elements to evolve naturally.

I know authors get asked this a lot but do you have any advice that you would give to aspiring writers?

Write your own way. Remember that everyone has different writing styles, just like we all have different fashion styles. We may be influenced by designers or other people who wear clothing we like, but we don’t mirror them fully. I’ve received a bit of negative feedback on the way I started The Funeral Flower, but once readers made it past Kelly’s childhood they embrace the style for the very reason I wrote it that way. Keep in mind, we each have our own place in this world, not just in writing but in the world overall. BE YOURSELF and let your work reflect that.

When did you realize that you would like to write and publish a book?

I realized at an early age writing was the best creative outlet for me and have written poems and stories ever since I can remember. One day my daughter, when she was around 13, had gone into the study to look for a new book to read. I found her later reading one of my manuscripts and crying. Immediately she asked why I had never published it. The truth was I love to write down all the stories in my head and it just never got that far. She asked me to please just submit to a few publishers, if nothing comes of it, then I haven’t lost anything. Once I received the interest from a few agents I really started feeling the desire grow.

Can you tell us, in your own words not the book description, a little about your book?

The Funeral Flower is about growing through the good and bad into the person you are meant to be. It’s about using all of it to help others around you. It’s about understanding loss and the way you deal with loss and how other people around you deal with it as well. I’ve had several reviewers make the comment that it is preachy and I get that, even expected it, but if you’ll look at it through Kelly’s (MC) eyes and not your own, I think you’ll see it the way I wrote it. Keep in mind, I wrote The Funeral Flower just for me, never intending to ever publish it and I certainly wasn’t preaching to myself. So, when you read…read it through Kelly’s eyes.

Where can we purchase this book?

Can we expect more novels from you in 2017/2018?

I am in the process of finishing Love, Cutter (sneak peek at the end of The Funeral Flower). Originally it was projected to come out summer of 2018; however it is going so smoothly that I will be releasing it early. Not sure the exact date yet, but definitely late 2017 or early 2018.

How much of you or people you know do you think make it into the characters in your novel(s)?

While my novels are all fiction, I, like most authors, draw from real life experiences in order to relate and write. The characters are fictional; however they are strongly influenced by real people and experiences in my life. All of my writing is influenced that way. The sister, the sweet backyard neighbor lady, the boy between the fence, the bullies, and yes, the friendships and love are all heavily influence by real people. Also, many of the poems I included in the book were written when I was a child, teenager and young adult.

Do you think you will have a follow up book to this novel or is it just a stand-alone novel?

It is a standalone novel, but so many readers have contacted me about

COVER REVEAL & #GIVEAWAY: The Truth about Porn Star Boyfriends by Sunniva Dee

The Truth about Porn Star Boyfriends
Sunniva Dee
Publication date: August 15th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

I guess I just forgot.
To ask him what he did for a living, I mean.
And by the time I did, I was in—balls deep, as he’d call it.
He was the perfect boyfriend.
Attentive, gorgeous, guessing my every wish and fulfilling them.
The sex was earth-shattering.
He even dealt with my crazy mom the way no one else could.
He popped the question, God, such a perfect guy.
There was just one issue:
He f*cked other girls on camera for a living.
How the hell do you deal with that?

EXCERPT:

I slept over at his house. I did. I just couldn’t go home after everything he told me. I didn’t accept the invite to come with him on the boat today though. I didn’t ask him if he was going without me either. If he is, wouldn’t he be inviting some “friends,” some Alicias or Silks? I don’t want to know.
It’s not difficult to get my shifts back at Mintrer’s. With Il Signore’s nonna at the hospital, the family spends as much time at her bedside as they can.
Mom calls.
She sounds okay.
I need to verify in person even though Paul is next door, hopefully keeping her busy with his garden statues and homemade fountains. He likes my quirky mother because he’s quirky himself. That’s my guess anyway. I don’t think I can handle any new rocks hurled at Status Quo at the moment, especially not from Mom.
The boat is ready.
I only returned to my house two hours again, and this is what Ciro texts me? I roll my eyes. Frieda lowers the bagel she held up for me—everything or just sesame seeds?—and says, “That isn’t the porn star, is it?”
“Yeah, it’s Drake Constantine.” I pull out the syllables mocking him even though each sound opens my chest again.
“Well, at least he’s got a nice artist name. He’s no Jake daBoner or Cassius Erectus.”
I snort.
“Drake Constantine boned me in the ass last night,” she quotes as if from Shakespeare. She gazes beyond the bagel she now holds up like a skull.
I chuckle a little bit, and Frieda smiles. Smiles so wide it makes me feel guilty over everything I’ve put her through. I know she suffers with me. She didn’t sleep last night knowing I was with Ciro.
“What’s he saying?”
“He tells me he’s got the boat ready.”
“For that Catalina trip?”
“Mhmm.”
“You’re not doing that too, are you?” She drops the halves of the bagel into the toaster.
“Not the everything,” I say. “Can I have the sesame seed one instead?”
She presses her mouth together in a stern line but listens and fishes the everything one out and drops the sesame bagel in instead. “Happy now?”
“Very.”
“You’re not going, right?”
“No.” I want to slap my heart and my body for agreeing that we should say yes. “I already told you. I’m visiting Mom this morning, and then I’m working. If I get to do some overtime this weekend, I’m happy. I need the money, and I really don’t want to mope around the house.”
I’ll wait for you if you’re asleep.
I said I wasn’t going. Can’t. We
I hit “send” before I can finish the “We’re over, remember?” part. It was easier to yell it to him when I was furious. Today, I don’t know how I feel.
Why can’t you? He doesn’t ask about the We part? He knows.
“He’s so stubborn,” I murmur and type again.
Because, when are you seeing someone else for a f*** fest?
He deserves that I’m being crude. Hell, he’s being crude every hour of every work day.
He takes a moment to reply. Long enough for Frieda to scoot a plate and the tub of cream cheese in front of me. “Stop texting with him. You’re only dragging it out. You know that, right? I thought you’d blocked him.”
“He has a work phone too. On-freaking-call cell. Ha!”

Elizabeth Lennox – Although she wanted to be a romance novelist since the eighth grade, that dream only became a paid reality for her in 2009 and a full time job in 2012. Along the way, she received a BS in History and held different jobs in the real estate, government consulting, and financial industries. Noelle Adams – Noelle handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn’t stopped writing since. She has lived in eight different states and currently resides in Virginia, where she reads any book she can get her hands on and offers tribute to a very spoiled cocker spaniel. She loves travel, art, history, and ice cream. After spending far too many years of her life in graduate school, she has decided to reorient her priorities and focus on writing contemporary romances. Find her at noelle-adams.com.
Leslie North – Leslie North is the pen name for a critically-acclaimed author of women’s contemporary romance and fiction. The anonymity gives her the perfect opportunity to paint with her full artistic palette, especially in the romance and erotic fantasy genres. Leslie fell in love with romance when she first picked up a scrappy, dog-eared romance book from her local library. She began writing soon after and the rest, as they say, was history. She now lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast and enjoys taking long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie. Find her at leslienorthbooks.com.
Lizabeth Scott – Who is Lizabeth Scott? A voracious reader and a full-time writer for about 4 months! She’s also an artist (using watercolors and acrylics) and a designer, and is published in non-fiction under Tanya Freedman. Find her at gloriasilk.com.

Excerpt From The Billionaire’s Babysitter by Leslie North

“Hey,” she said, but he didn’t turn around, “I’m sorry if I upset you, prying. It’s none of my business. I apologize.”
“I’m not nine, Laine,” he said. “So don’t try to be my understanding babysitter.”
“I know you’re not a kid,” she said softly, “I was having a nice time and I feel like I ruined it.”
Wyatt raked a hand through his hair and crossed his arms, closed off to her again. “I’d like to know you better,” she said, and laid her cheek on his back just for a second.
Laine wasn’t one to rub up against men, but the expanse of his strong back, and the closeness they’d shared moments ago over the basil overwhelmed her. She wanted to reach out to him. She wanted him to reach for her, to find comfort in her body and she longed to wrap her arms around him and open her lips for him. She was breathless, almost humid with the vividness of that desire, so when he turned and swept her around, his arm hooking her waist and hauling her up against him, she gasped.
“How much better would you like to know me?” he said, his voice low and rasping. Her fingers curled into his shirt front.
Laine felt lost in his intense hot blue gaze. He touched her cheek and she nestled into his palm. She felt as if every nerve ending was alight with the sizzle of his touch. She tried to answer him, knew somehow in the blur of desire that he had asked her a question and she ought to say something, but she couldn’t look away. She could feel the heat of his breath on her lips, his arms holding her against his hard chest. He tipped her chin up and she parted her lips, ready for him, dying for him to kiss her. She blinked, squinting as the sun came out from behind a cloud and shone right in her eyes so she had to look away from him.
He gave that wicked half grin that made her want to drop her panties. Wyatt turned her so the sun wouldn’t be in her eyes, “I’d rather you be blinded by my charm than the sun, come over here,” he pulled her toward the shadow of the fence and she wrapped both arms around his neck, a smile curving her lips as she reached up for him and his mouth brushed hers.
The loudest screeching sound she’d ever heard shrieked from the spot where they were standing. They broke apart and he swore. “Fucking house arrest.” He muttered, taking a step back into the boundaries of the property, “Might as well put a goddamn shock collar on me like a dog.”
“Wyatt—” she called after him but he was on his way back inside.

Excerpt & #Giveaway: I Need You by Ashley Hampton @drashleyhampton

I Need You
Ashley Hampton
(Southern Rock Lyrics Series #3)
Publication date: June 7th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Hannah Walker and Igor Finley have everything they need – family, friends, and a strong future together. Instead of happy and easy “I do’s,” there is last minute wedding drama and an uninvited and unexpected guest threatening to ruin it all. Will Hannah become Mrs. Igor Finley? Or will this be the end of Hannah and Finley?

EXCERPT:

I snuggled closer to Finley as my phone beeped again. Didn’t anyone sleep anymore? The text was from Stacy telling me they were leaving Raleigh and would arrive in about three hours. The caravan was much slower than they anticipated.
I wanted some alone time with Finley before they arrived. Because of his stupid no sex idea, I decided I would avoid temptation and get out of bed. Just a couple more days to wait. The best part – I could forever remind him what a dumb idea this was just in case he had any other brilliant ones like this in the future.
My feet hit the floor, and Finley groaned. “Don’t go,” he begged.
I giggled. “Your dumb idea, loverboy. Everyone is leaving Raleigh. We have a lot to do before this evening, and it’s time to get started. I’m going to shower.”
He pulled the comforter over his head.
“Oh, I turned the coffee pot on, by the way.”
Finley peeked his head out. “I fucking love you. You know the sexiest things to say.”
I knew he was still looking, so I took off my t-shirt and dropped it on the floor as I entered the bathroom. One catcall later, and I closed the shower door.
I was blow drying my hair when Finley brought me a cup of coffee. He half perched on the counter and waited for me to finish.
“Ah, my hero. Thanks, babe,” I leaned in for a kiss and grabbed my coffee cup instead. A sip of the hot liquid made every penny worth it for the new coffeemaker I could turn on with my phone. Finley allowed a second sip before he took my cup and placed it on the counter.
He sat on the edge of the tub and pulled me into his lap. “Can we talk before things get crazy today?”
I nodded even though I wanted to ignore all the serious, emotional topics for today and instead get lost in what promised to be a day full of fun and insanity.
“Everything on point for a good, fun day?” he asked.
“Yes, that’s what I want. I don’t want to get bogged down in the emotions. I just want to have a fun day with our family.” I swear sometimes I felt as if he knew me better than I knew myself.

Excerpt & #Giveaway of Escape to Me by Diane Alberts! #FMBTour

Heart racing, she towed him to where the wine sat. She’d need to loosen up a bit to fool him into thinking she hailed from this time. Though she should run away without delay, the night carried the possibility of bringing her fantasies to fruition. In this very room, the man she’d pined for, the one she’d yearned to have, stared at her with hunger. Thomas wanted to make love—with her, of all people.

Who would’ve guessed it?

“So, Eleanor, tell me, where are you from?” He grabbed the wine, a brow raised as he grabbed the corkscrew to open the bottle. He studied the object, flipping it in his hands, and then put the sharp, twisty blade in the cork.

She could almost hear his thought process as he compared the modern version to the ones they were familiar with. He tossed a smile over his shoulder and poured two glasses. Giving one to her, he motioned for her to sit down on the couch. Once she did so, he sat so close beside her that their legs touched. The heat from his body pressing against hers caused to tremble and almost spill the wine over the rim, even though he’d filled it only three-quarters full.

“I’m from London. My family has an estate out near Devon, but we seldom use it.” Eleanor sipped her beverage, proud of her response. She sounded so…sophisticated. One would never guess she hovered a mere second away from exploding with anxiety. “You?”

“I live far away. I’m in town for a night, and then I return home.”

Now, that was an understatement, if she’d ever heard one. Two hundred years away, to be exact.

She held back a trill of laughter at his perfect reply. Clients were urged not to reveal the truth of their origins. Most people remained unaware of the joys of time-traveling—and the company preferred to keep it that way.

She licked her parched lips. “Oh, is that so? How fortunate for me to have the pleasure of meeting you before you leave.”

He studied her mouth, and her insides clenched at the dark hunger she saw within. How
