1) Would you tell us a little bit about
yourself?
My name is Anne
Marie Citro. I write real life spicy romance. I live in Canada and have worked
with special needs teenagers for most of my adult life. I didn’t work with the
poster children for their disabilities. The kids I worked with are the ones
that everyone says “If I were like them I rather be dead.” Well guess what?
They’re incredible people with so much to teach the world. Their honest, raw,
funny and trust people who have earned it. They changed my life and taught me I
could do anything. So, I started writing hoping you would fall in love with the
glimpses of these kids.
2)
Do
you have anything you would like to say to your readers?
The
title might lead you to believe the book is paranormal but it is not. It is
about the evil inside of us. A sibling that put her jealousy above her blood
and the people that deal with the aftermath.
3)
What
was the inspiration for this novel?
My
inspiration came from a watching a family being torn apart because of jealousy.
How one person’s actions can affect so many lives forever. Watching parents who
are unable to choose sides being torn apart by their children. How one family
who appears to have it all can lose it in the blink of an eye. There are no
winners or losers in these case there are only survivors.
4)
What
was your inspiration for this novel, or the series in general?
I have been writing a series of
books about a group of women that work in a facility
for teenagers with special needs. They have real live problems but dedicate their lives to the most misunderstood
people in the world. The group of friends
become family of their hearts. Each is a standalone book but the characters appear in each book. It is
about love, loss, surviving and living the life we are dealt with.
5)
Which
came first for you, the characters or the plot?
The plot came first. It was
something that played on my mind for years. The characters took it much further than I ever expected. It always
amazes me how characters tend to take
control of the writer’s mind and change the plot constantly.
6)
Are
you working on anything at the moment?
I am currently in the final stages
of editing my fourth book and cover design. I’m
also currently ninety percent done writing my fifth book and have the outline and research for book six. After that series
is done I am moving one to the next series.
I have begun the primaries for my next series. My mind is never a quite peaceful place.
7)
Who
or what influenced your writing once you began?
Plain and simply the characters
themselves. The characters become so real it
scares me. I can remember the first time a character took over. I sat down with
my notes and the direction of the chapter.
Unbeknownst to me when I reread the chapter
the character had changed my direction. One chapter I wrote one way then the way the character thought it
should be and to my absolute dismay the character
was totally right and he pissed me right off.
8)
Where
can we purchase your novel?
My books can be purchased through
all major distributors online. Visit my website
at annemariecitro.com and you will find the buy links. While you are there visit the destinations through
pictures of my own travels of places the characters
visit in the books. If you have never been to these destinations it is fun to see descriptions come to life. While
watching listen to the playlist.
9)
What
is the hardest part of writing in your opinion?
The hardest part about writing is
not getting the words on the page. It is about getting
the word out about my book. I believe strongly in what I write and so do a million other authors but we are all just a
grain of sand on beach. I don’t have a
big marketing budget or the knowhow. My hopes are to be discovered one day so I can share my passion with readers that
like to fall in love.
10) What is the easiest part of writing in your
opinion?
Falling in love with the characters that
control my mind and thoughts for months. Living vicariously through them and just
escaping and getting to be someone
else for a while. Trying to keep
them in line is another matter altogether. LOL
